Counselling is a form of help for those who are finding things difficult for whatever reason. It can help you to better understand what isn’t working very well in your life; and to decide what and how you want to change.

I provide a confidential, safe and accepting space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and concerns. In my practice I may use a range of verbal and non-verbal techniques, depending on what suits you best. This might include talking, writing, drawing, visualisations or movement.

What does it involve?

Prior to our first session, I will ask you to complete an assessment form and to agree to a counselling contract. This allows us to spend more time in our first session on you, and less on admin. Our first session is for you to work out whether you feel I can offer what you’re looking for, and for me to find out more about you.

How we go forward will depend on the outcome of the first session, but would usually involve a weekly commitment to a 50-minute session at the same time and day each week. We would agree how often and for how long you wish to continue counselling, and this would be reviewed together from time to time as part of our sessions.
